Kamień Sławniowice / Marianna
These are two polish marbles, with the color and structure equal to the highest standard marbles from all over the world. Due to its durability, rarity and difficulty in processing, sculptures made of this material are very rare.
It is a two-component polymer gypsum consisting of a mineral powder and a water-based acrylic resin. This combination results in a very durable, environmental-friendly, and nonflammable material.
Acrylic has many unusual properties - it allows you to make molds and castings of any shape and structure. We can create durable and lightweight composite elements using the lamination method. The manual application allows artists and architects to create unique designs. It is safe and comprehensive, odorless material, without contain of solvents - therefore it is safe and does not require special precautions during work.
The sculpture was created as part of the open-air sculpture workshops entitled "Pro-Kontra" during my studies at the Faculty of Sculpture on the Academy of Arts in Kraków.
The title of my sculpture "Purification" is also the direction I chose when creating it. It is an abstract form that speaks of the process of transformation, captured in one of the noblest sculptural materials - Polish marble. The mutual "overcoming" of matter always gives us a new value.
The unsurpassed nature is a source of our joys, sorrows, life, and its creative interpretation.
