The proposed work refers to the possibility of physically recreating something intangible: MEMORIES.
In this sense, anchoring a memory involves incorporating it into personal memory, making it the record of a moment, an instance of life that, linked to others, make possible the account of one's own history and by extension, that of the collective.
The work is based on those resulting from ancestral female work - the subject of research in my production - which goes through the discourse and at the same time, are part of it.
I work with embossing as a plastic and aesthetic resource that allows me to accentuate the presence of the materiality of the work, which, together with the textiles and printed textures allows to reveal the deeper traces of the body of those memories. On the other hand, the tenuous embroidery highlights the remote and intrinsic connection between them all.
I emphasize the organicity of natural fibers, such as paper and threads, which allow to evoke a natural, original, pure product, perhaps trying to avoid adulterating those memories in the face of the attempt at representation.
Its format refers to and emphasizes the unstoppable depth where they rest, allowing to explore content and continent, in intimate relationship.
