Graduated from the department of painting and graphics in 1965 Fine Arts in Warsaw. He practices painting, sculpture and applied graphics.
He had over 40 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including United States (New York, Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia), Germany, Sweden, Finland, France and Australia.
He received 25 awards for creativity in the field of poster and painting, including 8 in competitions organized by the Polish Olympic Committee.
Bogusław Lustyk's work was exhibited at the Olympics in Barcelona, Atlanta and London.
In 2012, he carried out a unique project called "The Painted Chronicle of the Olympics" in London under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
Since 2002, he has been cooperating with the Teatr Wielki - Polish National Opera in Warsaw, which resulted in two large exhibitions.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin, he prepared a series of paintings entitled "Painting Music", which was exhibited at the Kordegarda Gallery and at the International Festival in Międzyzdroje (during these exhibitions, the paintings were interpreted musically by Waldemar Malicki), as well as at exhibitions in Chicago and Saratoga Springs (during these exhibitions, the paintings were an inspiration for musical improvisation for American jazz musicians).
As part of cooperation with the Teatr Wielki, he designed a promotional setting for the 8th International Vocal Competition. Tadeusz Moniuszko.
Recent awards:
2013 - Silver medal at the Poster Biennale in Katowice.
2013 - Silver Olympic Laurel in the Art category.
In 2014 and 2015, to commemorate the Warsaw Uprising, he made 150 insurgent-themed graphics, which he used to create an installation in the form of barricades on street Krakowskie Przedmieście, "Today I'm going to fight, Mom" and "Insurgent Lair". These installations met with a huge social response. The artist was nominated for the Norwid award for the realization of this project. These events are commemorated by an album published in several original copies.
For almost 20 years, the artist lived in the United States since 1994, without losing contact with Poland. In the United States, he was very successful. Among other things, for designing the visual setting of the Kentucky Derby, as the second in the 125-year history of this race, he was awarded the title of Official Artist of the Kentucky Derby. He collaborates with the Saratoga Springs National Dance Museum.
