Feng Chongli

钢是属于工业文明的材料，这也是我选择它的原因，材料语言对于雕塑本体的介入，本身就是一种观念的呈现，也承载着创作者的人文记忆和生活情感。在材料实践中，我一方面比较注重材料新工艺的运用，另一方面也为许多承载着民族技艺的手工材料所吸引。材料最微妙的表现力往往就隐藏在工艺流程中，常常稍纵即逝，需要心手经历每个流程去体会捕捉。材料语言介入雕塑本体的同时，也会体现作者对于社会、文化及情感的认知。

Feng Chongli chose steel, a material belonging to industrial civilization, as his main inspiration and the primary creation material. The intervention of the material language into the sculptural body presents ideas and carries the creator's humanistic memory and life emotions. In the artist's material practice, he focuses more on using new techniques in materials, but also, he is attracted by the many handmade materials that carry ethnic skills. The subtlest expressions of materials are hidden in the process. Often fleeting and need to be captured by the heart and hands through each process. The language of the material intervenes in the sculpture itself while at the same time reflecting the author's perception of society, culture, and emotion.

Feng Chongli eligió el acero, un material perteneciente a la civilización industrial, como principal inspiración y material de creación. La intervención del lenguaje material en el cuerpo escultórico presenta ideas y lleva la memoria humanista y las emociones vitales del creador. En la práctica material del artista, se centra más en el uso de nuevas técnicas en los materiales, pero también, se siente atraído por los muchos materiales hechos a mano que llevan las habilidades tradicionales. Las expresiones más sutiles de los materiales se esconden en el proceso. A veces son fugaces, y requieren ser captadas por el corazón y las manos del artista en cada proceso. El lenguaje propio del material interviene en la escultura, a la par que refleja la propia percepción del artista sobre la sociedad, la cultura, y las emociones.

“矛盾、相容、冲撞、共生……”是作品要表述的文化、生态关系。在自然与工业，传统与现代的“撞击”中，诠释“自然与人文、物质与精神”的永恒主题。在单纯简练的形体中，以写意的手法进行塑造，泥土与似墨色般的光影相互交织、浸润，这是一种来自对东方水墨意境的体悟。钢的冷峻与变幻莫测的光影相遇、交融、无限延展，熔铸出跌宕起伏、延绵不息的精神意象。

"Contradiction, compatibility, collision and symbiosis" is the cultural and ecological relationship that the work aims to express. In the "clash" between nature and industry, tradition and modernity, the eternal theme of "nature and humanity, matter and spirit" is interpreted. The simple and concise forms are shaped realistically, with earth and ink-like light and shade intertwined, infused with each other; it is a perception from the oriental ink and wash mood. The coldness of steel and the unpredictable light and shadow meet, mingle and extend infinitely, forging a spiritual image of ups and downs and continuity.

"Contradicción, compatibilidad, colisión y simbiosis" son las relaciones culturales y ecológicas que pretende expresar la obra. En el "choque" entre naturaleza e industria, tradición y modernidad, se interpreta el eterno tema de "naturaleza y humanidad, materia y espíritu". Las formas sencillas y concisas se plasman de forma realista, y la tierra y los claroscuros, como si fueran pigmentos líquidos, se entrelazan en un modo heredado de la técnica de tinta tradicional oriental. La frialdad del acero y la imprevisible luz y sombra se encuentran, se mezclan y se extienden infinitamente, forjando una imagen espiritual de cambios y continuidad.
