在视觉文化时代，动漫因其时尚性与娱乐性深受广青少年的喜爱而不断发展壮大，在《玩偶》系列创作中，作者把影响了几代人成长的动漫元素融入其中，作品运用求全法把这些跨越时代的玩偶形象塑造在一起，使这些伴有成长记忆的玩偶符号共同呈现出欢愉、幸福的场景。它不仅仅是再现了玩偶时代的印记，更是对快节奏高压紧张生活下对人们产生的紧张、焦虑心理上需要的情感“治愈”。
钢网材料通过缝制的方法完成造型的塑造，同时又符合玩偶形象具有的手作痕迹。材质自身的通透性使作品视觉上增加了轻快感和柔软性，叠加后的虚幻效果产生了记忆的模糊性和时间感。在颜色上，作者使用了钢网自身的色彩。灰色为低明度色，有虚化视觉作用。金属材料的光感寓意了时光，钢网风化后的自然锈色更暗示了时间性。

En la era de la cultura visual, los dibujos animados han ido desarrollándose y creciendo por su carácter de moda y entretenimiento, que encanta a las generaciones jóvenes. Zhang Wendi ha incorporado los elementos de los dibujos animados que han influido en el crecimiento de varias generaciones y utiliza el método de reunión para combinar las figuras de todas las generaciones junto con la serie "Juguete".
Estas figuras de juguete y las memorias sobre lo que significa crecer, presentan una escena alegre y feliz. El artista realza la impresión de la época de las figuras de juguete para crear una cura emocional para la tensión y la ansiedad que la gente necesita en una vida acelerada y estresante. El artista forma los cuerpos de las figuras de juguete cosiendo malla de acero, que coincide con las puntadas de esos juguetes hechos a mano. La permeabilidad del material añade una sensación de ligereza y suavidad al aspecto visual de la obra, y el efecto ilusorio superpuesto recuerda al espectador la difuminación de la memoria y el sentido del tiempo. Zhang Wendi eligió el color natural de la malla de acero, gris, que tiene un efecto visual de difuminación de la visión. La luz brillante del metal implica tiempo, y el óxido natural implica la marca de la historia.

In the era of visual culture, anime has been developing and growing due to its fashion and entertaining nature, which the young generations love. Zhang Wendi has incorporated the anime elements that have influenced the growth of several generations and uses the gathering method to combine the figures across generations together with the "Toy" series. Together, these toy figures with memories of growing up present a lively and happy scene. The artist enhances the impression of the toy figures era to create an emotional cure for the tension and anxiety that people need in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and stressful life.
The artist forms the toy figures' bodies by stitching steel mesh, which matches the marks of those handmade toys. The material's permeability adds a sense of lightness and softness to the visual aspect of the work, and the superimposed illusionary effect reminds viewers of the blurring of memory and the sense of time. Zhang Wendi chose the natural color of the steel mesh, a gray, which has a visual effect of blurring the vision. The shining light of the metal implies time, and the natural rust from weathering implies the mark of history.
