丰富的物质材料是人类生产、生活不可或缺的物质基础，它们时刻围绕在我们身边，和我们融为一体。物质材料的第一属性固然是其本身的物质性，但在被人类收集、加工、使用之后也必然会体现出某种特定的社会文化属性。特别是当艺术家选择某种物质材料为表达媒介进行艺术创作的时候，物质材料在个体情感的加持和推动下完成了从物象到心象的信息转换，这时的物质材料便具有了生命和语言，外在呈现出一种有意味的视觉形式，而内在则蕴含着艺术与人性、物性的和谐统一。每位创作者都有自己偏好使用的材料，我最钟情的便是毛毡类材料。毡是将动物的毛料在湿热状态下进行挤压获得的片状布料，可以用来做垫毯、衣物鞋帽、减震料等诸多用途，人类对毛毡的使用有很古老的历史，可以说是最早的布料形式，这也使得毛毡材料天然具有一种跨越古今的历史沉淀感。
根据动物毛料的不同，毛毡也有不同的种类和质料特性。此次创作中所运用的羊毛毡便是这样一种对我而言很特别的材料，羊毛毡柔软有弹性，折叠不易变形，有丰富的色彩和可塑性，无论用来制作平面毛毡绘画还是塑造立体造型作品都是一种理想的艺术创作材料。
本次所展览的作品是我长期以来以男人体和毛发表现为主题进行创作研究的延伸，也是我博士研究生同主题毕业作品系列的拓展实验。羊毛毡布料没有针织织物经纬线成型的特点使我能很好的用它来表现细腻入微的人物肌肤纹理，其丰富的色彩可以让我像绘画一样流畅地表现肌肤的色彩变化，它卓越的堆叠可塑性更能表现出微妙的形体起伏和毛发特征。
最重要的是，我认为羊毛毡物料具有某种神秘的感性特质，甚至具有某种情感疗愈的功能。因此，我喜欢使用各种各样的羊毛毡类制品，它们时时刻刻充斥在我生活中的角角落落。同时，我希望通过运用羊毛毡创作的作品来传递这种独特的情绪感受，通过羊毛毡作品的色彩、型体、质感和触感散发出某种无条件的柔软和温暖，使人感受到情绪的充盈并在艺术中体验生命的鲜活和人情的温度。

Los materiale son la base indispensable para la producción y la vida humanas. Siempre están a nuestro alrededor y se integran con nosotros. Aunque el primer atributo del material es su materialidad, inevitablemente reflejará algunos atributos sociales y culturales específicos tras ser recogido, procesado y utilizado por los seres humanos. Especialmente cuando el artista elige un material como medio de expresión para la creación artística, el material completa la transformación de la información de imagen del objeto a imagen idealizada, mediante las emociones del artista. En ese momento, el material tiene vida y lenguaje, presenta una forma visual significativa externa e internamente, contiene la unidad armoniosa del arte, la naturaleza humana y la naturaleza material. Cada artista tiene sus materiales preferidos, para Qi Yahong, el favorito es el material de fieltro. El fieltro es una tela en forma de lámina que se obtiene por extrusión de lana animal en estado caliente y húmedo. Se puede utilizar para muchos fines, como mantas para cojines, ropa, zapatos y sombreros, o bien para vestimentas protectivas. El fieltro es la forma más antigua de tela que existe, lo cual implica que estos materiales posean naturalmente un sentido histórico que interlaza el pasado y el presente.
Según la lana de los diferentes animales, el fieltro también tiene diferentes tipos y propiedades materiales. El fieltro de lana utilizado en esta creación es un material único para el artista personalmente. El fieltro de lana es suave y elástico, no es fácil de doblar y deformar, y tiene un color rico y plasticidad. Es un material de creación artística ideal para hacer cuadros de fieltro plano o dar forma a obras de modelado tridimensional.
Las obras expuestas en esta muestra amplían la innovadora investigación de Qi Yahong, estableciendo un diálogo entre el cuerpo masculino y las fibras. También es un experimento de expansión de la serie de trabajos de graduación de sus estudiantes de doctorado con el mismo tema.
El tejido de fieltro de lana no tiene las características de formación de urdimbre y trama del tejido de punto, por lo que Qi Yahong puede utilizarlo para expresar la textura de la piel de carácter delicado y sutil. Su rico colorido le permite expresar el cambio de color de la piel tan suavemente como la pintura, y su excelente plasticidad de apilamiento puede mostrar mejor la sutil fluctuación del cuerpo y las características del cabello.
Lo más importante es que Qi Yahong cree que los materiales de fieltro de lana tienen misteriosas características perceptivas y funciones de curación emocional. Por ello, le gusta utilizar todo tipo de productos de fieltro de lana, que se llenan de los rincones de su vida todo el tiempo. Al mismo tiempo, la artista espera transmitir este sentimiento emocional único mediante las obras creadas con fieltro de lana. A través del color, la forma, la textura y el tacto de las obras de fieltro de lana, Qi Yahong puede transmitir una suavidad y una calidez incondicionales, hacer que la gente sienta el relleno de la emoción y experimente la frescura de la vida y la temperatura de los sentimientos humanos en el arte.

Rich material is the indispensable material basis for human production and life. They are always around us and integrated with us. Although the first attribute of material is its materiality, it will inevitably reflect some specific social and cultural attributes after being collected, processed, and used by human beings. Especially when the artist chooses a material as the expression medium for artistic creation, the material completes the information transformation from object image to heart image with the support and promotion of individual emotion. At that moment, the material has life and language, presents a meaningful visual form externally and internally, contains the harmonious unity of art, human nature, and material nature. Each artist has his preferred materials, for Qi Yahong, the favorite one is felted material. Felt is a sheet-like cloth obtained by extruding animal wool in a hot and humid state. It can be used for many purposes, such as cushion blankets, clothing, shoes and hats, shock-absorbing material, and others. Human beings have an ancient history of using felt, which can be said to be the earliest form of cloth, which also makes felt materials naturally have a sense of historical precipitation across past and present times.
According to different animal wool, felt also has different types and material properties. The wool felt used in this creation is such a unique material for the artist personally. The wool felt is soft and elastic, not easy to fold and deform, and has rich color and plasticity. It is an ideal artistic creation material used to make plane felt painting or shape three-dimensional modeling works.
The works exhibited in this exhibition extend Qi Yahong's innovative research on the theme of the male human body and hair performance for a long time. It is also an expansion experiment of the series of graduation works of her doctoral students with the same theme.
Wool felt fabric has no characteristics of warp and weft forming of knitted fabric, so Qi Yahong can use it to express the delicate and subtle character skin texture. Its rich color lets her express the color change of skin as smoothly as painting, and its excellent stacking plasticity can better show the subtle body fluctuation and hair characteristics.
Most importantly, Qi Yahong believes that wool felt materials have mysterious perceptual characteristics and emotional healing functions. Therefore, she likes to use all kinds of wool felt products, filled with the corners of her life all the time. At the same time, the artist hopes to convey this unique emotional feeling by using the works created by wool felt. Through the color, shape, texture, and touch of wool felt works, Qi Yahong can send out some unconditional softness and warmth, make people feel the filling of emotion, and experience the freshness of life and the temperature of human feelings in art.
