作品“竹签沙发”是作者以竹签为原材料创作的系列作品中的其中之一，也是这个系列作品的第一件作品。众所周知，在竹子在中国资源丰富，在中国的历史记载中， 更是一度融入进人们生活的方方面面，比如被制作成竹简、 竹纸、生活用品以及家具等等。 然而，时至今日，竹制物品却已经边缘化了。
作者对于竹材料的研究已十年有余， 力图通过对竹子的研究，发现它的特质，探索它的可能。 作品“竹签沙发”就是通过利用竹子自有的弹性特征手工将穿插而成，没有任何其他粘结辅助。作者希望通过这种纯粹的制作手法，体现竹材的表现力。
在中国的传统文化中，竹子对于文人来讲是它的刚直不阿，对于画家来讲是它的通透，对于建筑师来讲是它的挺拔，而对于设计师来讲，它到底会是什么？既无竹子在人脑中的印象，又无竹文化的符号，这就是作者眼中的竹子，看到它的纤维，看到它的细胞，看到它的不同，用最简单的方式，力量，呈现出独特的魅力。

La obra "Sofá de Bambú" pertenece a la serie “Bamboo Stick" creada por Yang Gao, con palos de bambú como materiales, y también es la primera obra de esta serie. El artista intenta encontrar sus características y explorar sus posibilidades mediante su estudio. Esta obra se realiza utilizando las características elásticas del bambú sin ninguna otra ayuda de unión. Yang Gao pretende así revelar la fuerza expresiva del bambú a partir de todas sus posibilidades productivas.
En la cultura tradicional china, el bambú implica franqueza para los escritores, transparencia para los artesanos, infiere lo alto y lo recto para los arquitectos. y ¿qué será entonces para un artista? No existe la impresión del bambú en el cerebro humano ni el símbolo de la cultura del bambú. Simplemente es el bambú en los ojos del artista. Al ver su fibra, ver su celda y ver su diferencia, el bambú muestra su encanto único de la manera más simple y con fuerza.

The work "Bamboo Stick Sofa" is one of the "Bamboo Stick Series" created by Yang Gao with bamboo sticks as materials, and it is also the first work of this series. In Chinese traditional culture, bamboo is forthright for literatus, transparent for artis, tall and straight for architects, and what will it be for an artist? There is neither the impression of bamboo in the human brain nor the symbol of bamboo culture. Simply it is the bamboo in the artist's eyes. Seeing its fiber, seeing its cell, and seeing its difference, bamboo shows its unique charm in the simplest way and strength.
