1987年1月生于山东省日照市，现任教于四川美术学院造型艺术学院雕塑系,副教授，中国美术家协会会员、中国雕塑学会会员、中国工艺美术学会雕塑专业委员会会员、中国雕塑学会青年推介计划艺术家、重庆市美术家协会会员、重庆市雕塑学会会员。
个人创作参加中华人民共和国文化和旅游部、中国文学艺术界联合会、中国美术家协会、中国美术家协会雕塑艺术委员会、中国美术家协会美术教育委员会、中华全国体育总会、国家教育部艺术教育委员会等国家级展览30项左右，省部级展览50项左右。

Ge Pingwei nació en enero de 1987 en la ciudad de Rizhao, provincia de Shandong, China. En la actualidad, es catedrático asociado del Departamento de Escultura de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de la Academia de Bellas Artes de Sichuan. Ge Pingwei es miembro de la Asociación de Artistas de China, miembro de la Sociedad de Escultura de China, miembro del Comité Profesional de Escultura de la Sociedad de Artes y Oficios de China, artista del Programa de Promoción Juvenil de la Sociedad de Escultura de China, miembro de la Asociación de Artistas de Chongqing y miembro de la Sociedad de Escultura de Chongqing.

Ge Pingwei was born in January 1987 in Rizhao City, Shandong Province, China. Currently, he is an associate professor teaching at the Sculpture Department of the School of Plastic Arts, Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. Ge Pingwei is a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of China Sculpture Society, a member of Sculpture Professional Committee of China Arts and Crafts Society, an artist of Youth Promotion Program of China Sculpture Society, a member of Chongqing Artists Association, and a member of Chongqing Sculpture Society.

创作理念
《•结•》系列以“缘物得意”的方式，进行“人”与“物”的对话关系，在利用原生木结的基础上，又附加制作的绳结来呈现结的契合。这里的结是对木质媒介解构与建构，一方面利用木结的自然天成，另一方面对木质的人工塑造，形成的人与自然的存在状态，来求得材料和塑造物所形成的合一关系。

The The "Knot" series uses the "fate and content" to determine the dialogue between people and matter. Based on using the original wood knots, the knots made are added to show the fit of the knots. The knot here is the deconstruction and construction of the wood medium. On the one hand, the natural formation of the wood knot is used; on the other hand, the artificial shaping of the wood, forming the state of existence of man and nature, finds the unity formed by the material and the molded object relationship.

La serie Nudo utiliza la manera de ¨obtener el significado a través del objeto¨ para determinar el diálogo entre las personas y la materia. Basándose en el uso de los nudos de madera originales, se añaden los nudos realizados para mostrar el encaje de los mismos. El nudo es tanto la deconstrucción como la construcción del medio de la madera. Por un lado, se emplea la formación natural del nudo fabricado en madera; por otro lado, la producción artificial de la madera constituye una relación ontológica entre el hombre y la naturaleza, al encontrar la unidad en la relación entre material y objeto-modelado.
